Book review

Every now and then a true gem is released. Something that is not akin to the old autobiography that is trundled out as regular as clockwork and the same as the next one and the last one.

Such a book is currently available on the shelves in the Leeds shop entitled : “Where are they now ? Life after Leeds United. The book is written by Les Rowley and John Wray with additional material by Robert Endeacott.

If like me you want to know what happened to certain Leeds players after they hung up their boots, this is the book for you.

From 1970 to 2005 this 150 page publication chronicles the fortunes of all United’s best and worst

. Ever want to know what Tony Yeboah is doing now, or Dylan Kerr (mind you what was he doing during the infrequent occasions that he was picked), or Allan Clarke, or Tomas Brolin, or Jeff Chandler or Carl Harris or Ray Hankin or Mick Jones ? Any player who played a part in Leeds fortunes or misfortunes during the past 35 years has been tracked down and spoken to.

Which former Leeds player is now assistant manager to Alex McLeish at Rangers ? Whice former Leeds central defender is walking the beat and in two years time can retire after 25 years service ? etc etc. etc. If like me you are curious and like this kind of thing, this book is for you !!!
